TL;DR
This week was all about the road to Terrificon! We were joined by special guest, writer and creator Dr. Guion (Tomás), who is bringing an exclusive comic just for the Cannon community. We also got the first look at Spider-Man's new suit, Joe introduced a new (and delicious) sponsor, and Naomi's boyfriend made a surprise debut that left the crew stunned.
Special Guest: Dr. Guion is Terrificon-Bound!
We were thrilled to have our good friend Dr. Gonas (Tomas) on the show ahead of his trip to Terrificon!
In huge news, Tomas revealed that he is bringing a very limited (40-50 copies) English-language printing of his creator-owned book, Fragile, exclusively for the convention. This 50-page, post-apocalyptic one-shot features incredible art and a story full of heart, nostalgia, and monsters. He will be selling them for just $5, but for members of the Cannon community, he's offering them for the low, low price of a beer! Featured Episode Issue: House of Mystery #234
This week's issue was a classic piece of Bronze Age horror from August 1975, with a creepy cover by Luis Dominguez. The eerie anthology issue is a perfect example of DC's horror revival from that era, and as Joe pointed out, these books are a great and affordable entry point for anyone looking to collect spooky comics.
News & Rumors with The Big Beef
The Big Beef was busy this week, dropping some heavy news as we head into Terrificon.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day Suit Reveal: We got our first official look at the new suit for the next Spider-Man film! It was also confirmed that Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Michael Mando (Scorpion), and Jon Bernthal (The Punisher) will be in the movie.
Fantastic Four's Box Office Drop: In concerning news, Fantastic Four experienced a steep 80% drop in its second week at the box office. While the film is still on track to be profitable, the sharp decline was one of the worst in modern box office history.
Peacemaker is Back!: The trailer for Peacemaker Season 2 dropped, and James Gunn revealed the show will establish that over 100 universes exist in the DCU, laying the groundwork for a massive future crossover event.
Booster Gold is in Development: The fan-favorite series is officially back in development at DC Studios. The crew immediately started fan-casting, with names like Ryan Gosling, Glenn Powell, and Chris Pratt being thrown around for the lead role.

Cannon Questions: Terrificon Tips & The Phoenix Saga
The community came through with some great questions. When asked for tips on attending a major out-of-state con, the crew advised doing your research, bringing a comic portfolio, and having a focused want list to avoid getting overwhelmed. They also debated whether Hollywood could ever do the Phoenix Saga justice, agreeing that it would take multiple films of character development and a story that truly embraces the cosmic scale of the original.

Did you Know? The Silver Surfer Was a Surprise to Stan Lee
The Silver Surfer was created completely on the fly by Jack Kirby! When Kirby turned in his penciled pages for Fantastic Four #48, Stan Lee was shocked to see a man on a surfboard alongside Galactus and asked who he was. Kirby's simple explanation was, "a god needs a herald". Stan loved the idea so much that he gave the character the tragic, profound backstory of Norrin Radd, and a Marvel icon was born from a surprise sketch.
